One example is a band
called London Grammar, a British band, that were able to market themselves
and their music all around the world at a touch of the button, the band had
formed in 2009 and started to do small gigs at their local pubs, however they
found themselves getting no further than this, they had no record label or
backing from a producer so in late 2011 the band had decided to create a YouTube
channel along with a sound cloud account where they would upload their newest
songs to hopefully spread the word of their talent, and ever since then they
have used online media sites such as Facebook and Twitter to get out there so
to speak. Upon researching the band it soon became clear that social media
sites have made a huge influence on the band members life’s, infact the band wouldn’t
have existed in the first place if Dan Rothman (the guitarist) did not approach
Hannah Reid after seeing a picture of her on Facebook with a guitar. On the 12th
of December 2012 the three band members had decided to post their new song “Hey
Now” on YouTube and to date has over 1.9million views, along with this their Sound
Cloud version had received 370,000 plays in early 2013. They also marketed
themselves by using iTunes for their songs, and at one point their album EP
Metal & Dust reached the top five in the iTunes Chart in Australia despite
it being on the other side of the planet. An interview with a Nhs manager said
she had found out about London grammar on YouTube whilst she was watching a
vlog by a separate youtuber with no link to the band itself, she had then
listened to their song “Hey Now” and had
quickly grew a like for the music and shortly after had purchased their album
on iTunes. After a post on Facebook ‘Just been listening to London Grammar in
my new Car with the roof down. Lovely car, lovely music, lovely day: D’ she received
several comments about how her friends had also downloaded the album because of
the recommendation on Facebook , therefore by using social media sites such as I
have mentioned it has increased their presence on the internet and now if you
were to ask someone if they had heard of the Band London Grammar the likely
hood of them answering yes is a lot higher than when they formed in 2012 and
this is all because of these sites that have secured them a record deal and
have got in the top 5 of several countries singles charts.

Generally good use of research, but you definitely need to include an opening point that provides the basis for your paragraph. That way you have a structure that runs throughout the essay and it ensures that you are definitely focused on answering the question. Try to include the use of questionnaire data to demonstrate wider ranging primary research.
